Available IGs

This page is currently being updated. Please keep in mind we often have IGs in foster care from 2 to14+ years old. Often IGs under 10 years are not updated to the website because they are adopted quickly. We have wonderful dogs with greyt personalities! Please complete our adoption application as it asks for your preferences and we will consider you for an Iggy that may be a match. We will be updating the website soon with some available IGs but send us your application in the meantime because you don't want to miss out on an IG that may be a greyt match for you!

Gigi

Introducing Gigi, a young, playful, cute and cuddly girl. She is a petite iggy weighing in at approximately 7lbs and she is only 8 years old. Gigi is very well socialized. She gets along with other dogs and cats, and will do fine with children. She loves to play, play, play! Gigi is also a fantastic cuddlier. She loves to crawl under the covers and curl up with you for a nap or bedtime. Gigi has good potty habits and is using a doggy door. She will be great addition in almost any home. She does have a history of epilepsy and is on phenobarbital to control this. She has not had a seizure in a long time and her medication only costs $15-$20 a month.

Ginger

Meet Ginger, an absolutely beautiful Girl! She is very shy and still quite timid, especially around new people. She gets along with other dogs (she has been living with three other IGGYs in her foster home), and occasionally shows her playful side. She just loves to lay on the bed on a heating pad, or in the sun. Her potty habits are a work in progress. She knows how to use potty pads, but easily mistakes carpet for the pads. She would not do well in a busy, high energy home with children. However, Ginger would thrive in a quiet home with patient, compassionate, understanding parents. Her feelings are easily injured and even verbal scolding would have a negative impact on her social progress. She needs lots of love and encouragement. She came to rescue with a broken leg which has been plated and has completely healed. Ginger is heart worm positive and so the normal adoption fee for a 6 year old IG has been reduced from $300 to $75.

Dasha

Meet Dasha!  Dasha is 8 years young, and a lovebug. She is very friendly and playful, and she won't hesitate to jump in your lap and smother you in kisses. Dasha is is potty trained and crate trained. She gets along great with other dogs, cats and even reptiles. She has glaucoma in her right eye, and gets eye drops 3 times a day to keep her eye pressure under control.  She just had a checkup and her eyes are doing great. If you give Dasha a chance to be your forever Iggy her personality will surely win you over!

Spider

Spider, AKA Spidey Man is friendly to everyone as well as other dogs. He’s loving, smart, eager to please and loves to play with toys.  Spider is 10 years old, rarely barks and greets everyone with a wagging tail.  He knows: sit, lie down, and paw. He will sleep in his crate, or under the covers with you. He LOVES to cuddle. He also enjoys walks and other dogs.

Grain free food and treats is a must as he has a corn allergy. He also recently recovered from a violent pit bull attack and has been nervous after but is getting his groove back. He received a good prognosis from the vet for a full recovery.

His previous owner was a veterinarian who could no longer keep him due to her husband's illness, and her long hours. That being said, he was very loved, and we have very good medical records for him.

Dakota

Meet Dakota! This boy is fine and nine, (until the end of April when he will be 10) with all of the energy and pizzazz of a younger dog. His favorite activities include running, jumping, dancing, and posing for the camera. He is a love bug who wants to be doing whatever you are doing at any time, day or night. Dakota is cat, dog, and child friendly, as well as an excellent leash walker. He loves to give kisses, and is in a constant state of happiness. He has good potty habits and no health issues.

Wiggles

This is Wiggles! He was rescued from Hillsborough shelter on the kill list due to his heart worm positive status.  Now he has a GREYT life with his foster family in Tampa Bay. Wiggles is a taller, lanky IG with a wonderful personality. Now, heart worm negative, he is available for adoption, but we know most people wouldn't be interested due to his age (13). He would not do well in a home with children or young rambunctious dogs because he is going blind. If you think you would like to adopt him OR sponsor his medical bills please contact Annemarie at igrescuefl@gmail.com.  While he remains indefinitely in rescue we will cover all his medical expenses so sponsors for our seniors are very important.  These lovely kids will not ever see their expenses reimbursed to the fund via an adoption fee but we will continue to give them whatever they need. Please contact Annemarie if you would like to be a named or anonymous sponsor for Wiggles so we can continue saving more IGGIES.

Buddy

Meet Buddy! He recently turned 14 years old and has been in rescue since January of 2013. If there is one thing we can all say about Buddy its that he has SPUNK! Buddy likes to do what he wants when he wants, and he knows that at his age he can get away with it! Like all our special kids, he received a dental when he came into rescue and we later found out that he is in kidney failure.  He gets regular blood work and nail trims because he goes CRAY CRAY when his amazing foster mom tries to do it ;-)

Because he is terminal he will remain in rescue indefinitely with his wonderful foster mom. If you think you would like to sponsor his medical bills please contact Annemarie at igrescuefl@gmail.com.  While he remains indefinitely in rescue, we will cover all his medical expenses so sponsors for our seniors are very important.  These lovely kids will not ever see their expenses reimbursed to the fund via an adoption fee but we will continue to give them whatever they need. Please contact Annemarie if you would like to be a named or anonymous sponsor for Buddy so we can continue saving more IGGIES.

Zoe

Zoe has been with us since April of 2012. She came to us in dire need. Her owner found her a year earlier and was never able to get her medical care. She was not eating, and often seemed to be in pain. She was terrified of everything. We found out there was an issue with her ear, and initially the diagnosis was to potentially do an ear canal ablation. Luckily once she was under anesthesia we found out it was a polyp and major ear infection.  She has been on ear drops ever since.  Due to her social needs and eccentricities we decided shortly thereafter it was in her best interest to stay with her foster mom. Zoe exhibits symptoms of dementia but is generally happy. Except when she has to go to the vet!  Then, she can throw a tantrum of epic proportions! Even though her foster mom cooks for all the dogs there is nothing Zoe loves more than her PUPPERONI Much to our distaste! lol! We wish she liked healthier options but at her age and weight, let's be real, ZOE GETS WHATEVER ZOE WANTS! :)

If you think you would like to sponsor her medical bills please contact Annemarie at igrescuefl@gmail.com.  While she remains indefinitely in rescue we will cover all her medical expenses so sponsors for our seniors are very important.  These lovely kids will not ever see their expenses reimbursed to the fund via an adoption fee but we will continue to give them whatever they need. Please contact Annemarie if you would like to be a named or anonymous sponsor for Zoe so we can continue saving more IGGIES.

Jasmine

Jasmine is a very special girl who exudes that ancient Egyptian look that Cleopatra must have loved. At 12 years old she is healthy and happy having come from a very loving home who simply could not keep her due to a life change.  She weighs about 14 lbs.  She is incredibly sweet and has a great demeanor.   She's very spunky and gets along great with other IGs.  Jasmine is potty trained...will go outside or use potty pads.  She doesn't like to be outside for extended periods of time and doesn't like to be cold.  She loves to be wrapped up under blankets, loves treats (especially cheese) and is an easy dog to love.  She is pretty independent and would prefer to cozy up by herself rather than in your lap.

Smidge

Meet Smidge! We think she is about 15 years old and she is terminal for dementia and a spinal disk issue. She has some good days and some bad days.  This is a photo of her on a recent good day cuddling with her buddy Jack! Her devoted foster/forever family the Patterson's do whatever they can to make her time happy.  Smidge's original owner was institutionalized for Alzheimer's and she was taken to a shelter to be euthanized because she was old and incredibly emaciated. Luckily the shelter contacted our rescue vet Dr. Riley who nursed her back to health for a month before turning her care over to her loving foster family.

If you think you would like to sponsor her medical bills please contact Annemarie at igrescuefl@gmail.com.  While she remains indefinitely in rescue we will cover all Smidge's medical expenses so sponsors for our seniors are very important.  These lovely kids will not ever see their expenses (hundreds of dollars) reimbursed to the fund via an adoption fee but we will continue to give them whatever they need. Please contact Annemarie if you would like to be a named or anonymous sponsor for Smidge so we can continue saving more IGGIES.
